Littleton Academy Students Hope Winter Cards Will Circle the Globe

Four talented young artists from Littleton Academy are sharing their holiday spirit through professionally printed winter greeting cards, hoping their artwork will make its way around the world in the coming months.
The school recently held an art contest where four winning student designs were selected for professional printing. The 5x7 cards, which feature the school's Blue Jay mascot in various winter scenes, are available in packs of eight with envelopes for a suggested donation of $15 per pack. The cards can be purchased at the school, Main Street Mercantile, Timber Waters Brewery, and Frank’s Fine Arts in Littleton.
The winning artists and their designs include:
- First grader Amelia Hawkins, who created a whimsical scene of a large snowman with a blue jay perched on its carrot nose
- Second grader Hazel Evans, who depicted a Blue Jay wearing a bright pink scarf on a snow-covered tree limb
- Fourth grader Temperance Roberts, whose design shows a large winter tree with a snowman and a blue jay seeking shelter in a tree hollow
- Fourth grader Lily Ayscue, who illustrated a tree full of blue jays watching over a cheerful snowman during a snowstorm
"We hope these cards bring big smiles to whoever purchases them and the people who receive them," said Principal Renee Mizelle. "We'd like to make this a yearly tradition at the school where students and the community can look forward to and anticipate the cards being released each year just in time for the holidays."
The professional printing of the cards was made possible through the generous support of Lakeland Cultural Arts Community, as part of their initiative to promote arts in the community. "We are grateful to Lakeland for helping us with this project, which means all of the proceeds will go directly toward student scholarships," Mizelle added.
The fundraiser has already garnered enthusiastic community support, combining local artistry with holiday cheer while supporting education.
